Follow these steps when adding a Saga device to a shipment:

1️⃣ Check the

Status
titleBATTERY STATUS

  • If the battery level is

    (or adequately charged to complete a shipment as per agreements), go to step 2.

  • If the battery level is

    Status
    colourRed
    titleUNDER 90%
    (or not adequately charged to complete a shipment as per agreements), plug the device into a charging station (provided by Controlant)/USB charging adapter/computer USB port until it reaches the required battery level to function. To fully charge a device, you need to charge it for 6 hours and until the display shows 100% next to the battery with a flash icon.

2️⃣ Check the

Status

  • If the cloud connection is

    , please proceed to step 3.

  • If the connection

    , try waking up the device by connecting it to a charging station provided by Controlant, a USB charging adapter, or a computer USB port, then disconnect and wait for 10 minutes to see if the device can connect to the cloud. If the

    continues to be displayed; please contact support@controlant.com, stating the location (country) and device ID number, and choose a different device.

3️⃣ Check the

    . If that is the case, proceed to step 4.

  • If

    shows in the top left corner of the display the

    blinks every 5 seconds, please contact support@controlant.com, stating the location (country) and device ID number.

4️⃣ Pair the device with the shipment on the Supply Chain Monitoring (SCM) platform

  • You need to access the SCM platform with your username and password. Pairing requires a specific role assigned to you by an Admin user. If you have any problems, please get in touch with support@controlant.com.

  • Alternatively, loggers may be paired to shipments via API integration.

5️⃣ Press the

on the device to start the shipment

  • Press and hold the

    Status
    colourGreen
    titleSTART BUTTON
    for 5–8 seconds to activate the device.

    • The

      Status
      colourYellow
      titleSHIPMENT LED
      lights up when the device registers the button press as valid and remains on for 3 seconds. The lit-up led light means that you can release the button.

    • With this step, you initiated the shipment. It is essential to consider the most appropriate Ignore period. This period allows the device to reach the most accurate temperature inside the packaging of goods.

    • According to the operational procedures, please ensure that the shipment is started with a considered Ignore period. This period can be set on the SCM platform to meet your needs.
