The light sensor only works in firmware version 1.3.0 and onwards. Please check with your reseller that your logger is up to date before planning use of the light sensor.

Logger Functionality

  • The CO 10.01 measures light every 10 seconds
  • The logger only logs events to memory when the logger goes instantly from a completely dark environment to a bright one or vice versa. Subtle changes in light intensity will not trigger an event, as Figure 1 shows below.
  • The logger will only log a certain amount of events to memory in between wake ups. This is to prevent the logger from filling it memory with light events that might be triggered due to a flickering light bulb for example.
    • Loggers at a 1 hour wakeup interval during shipment are allowed to log 6 light events in between wakeups
    • Loggers at a 3 hour wakeup interval during shipment are allowed to log 18 light events in between wakeups
  • Figure 1 below shows how the light intensity changes throughout the day in a normal office environment and how the logger reacts to it.
