The user can receive warnings via email and/or via text messages. Measurement margins for temperature can be set which have various behavior, depending on how the user wants to monitor the temperature. The user can configure different margins (i.e. 2°C, 8°C), how long the temperature can be out of each bound (1 minute, 1 hour) and how often the warnings should be delivered in each case (i.e. 3 warnings for the first hour, and every 12 hours after that).

The following procedure shows how to configure a warning for temperature

Finding the Warning Settings View

1) The temperature is located in a group, or by searching in the site "Devices"

2) Click on the bell-icon or the wrench to create or modify a warning

Configuring the Warning Settings

General Settings

       a) If the text „Warnings are deactivated“  is shown on a red bar, you need to press „Turn On“. Note that the bar will not turn green unless margins and contacts have been added to the warning.

       b) To change the warning description you should press „Edit“. The warning description  is sent with the warning via email and/or via text message and can be used to identify from what location this particular warning is being sent. Note that special characters are not allowed.

Configuring Measurement Boundaries

Users can configure warnings for sensors. The options for each boundary set are the following;

  • Value (i.e. temperature value for the excursion)
  • Higher/lower trigger - indicating whether an alarm should be sent if value goes above or below the boundary
  • Sensitivity - indicates for how long the value must be outside of the boundary for an alarm to be raised

Margins are configured by inserting at what level warnings should be triggered and after how long time the temperature needs to be out of limits before warning is sent. The following configuration may be used to monitor valuables which should be between 2°C and 8°C.

  • Value can not be higher than 12°C for longer than 1 minute
  • Value can not be higher than 8°C for longer than 1 hour
  • Value can not be lower than 2°C for longer than 1 hour
  • Value can not be lower than 1°C for longer than 1 minute

With this configuration, warnings are not sent when temperature goes slightly out of bounds for a short time, i.e. when a cooler is opened while refilling. It is, however, ensured that warnings will be sent as soon as temperature goes above 12°C and below 1°C

The configuration for warning frequency is 3 warnings for the first hour, and every 12 hours after that.

Configuring Recipients for Alarms

Recipients are added for text messages and/or email by pressing „Add“. Note that you need to add a + and the correct country code when adding text messages (i.e. +354XXXXXXXX).

Saving the Warning Settings

Finally you need to press „Save“ to store the changes.
