This minor update of SCM includes an addition to the access control system, enabling access control based on location countries.
In addition to the changes to the access control there are several minor improvements to the SCM UI.
Country based access
With this addition to the existing access management system Admin users can now grant users access to shipments and locations based on country.
This addition will simplify access control for users that need access to shipments and locations related to specific countries. For these uses cases it is no longer neccessary to manually grant users access to each and every location belonging to that country. New locations will automatically be added to the users access claim.
Users can be granted access to
All locations within a specific country
All shipments with a specific origin country
All shipments with a specific destination country.
User access is managed through the Account Admin UI.
Once this feature is released, it will have no impact on existing setup. The country based access must be manually applied to each user or role.
See below, for example, a map for a user that has access to shipments where destination country is China.
Integration Loggers Templates accessible in SCM UI
For the customers with system to system integration via our Integration API the Loggers Templates used to create shipments are now accessible for Admin users within the Admin Panel in the SCM UI.
Viewing the templates in a user interface simplifies the validation. To further simplify the management of the templates, Admin users can now Create, Edit and Delete the Loggers templates as well.
Note that the Loggers Templates are only compatible with the Integrations API when creating shipments.
Postal code no longer required for locations
When creating a location, postal code is no longer a required field. This stems from the fact that some countries do not use postal codes. The field remains an optional field.
The change will not affect the defintion of any existing locations in the system.
Recalled Loggers accessible in the logger tab
Users can now view loggers with the status Recalled. The list of recalled loggers is accessible from Logger filters within the Loggers tab.
Adding custom properties to shipments simplified
To reduce number of actions required when a user is adding custom properties to a shipment the verification step has been removed (green check mark icon).
User must simply type in the value or select the appropriate drop down value.
Number of loggers added to a shipment
During shipment manual creation process, the number of logger slots that have been added to the shipment is now visible and updated every time a logger is added/removed from the shipment.
Minor changes
Map is now hidden on the Products tab.
Temperature chart now fits on a single page when printed.
