Definitions
Name | Description |
---|---|
Group | A group is a place or a "folder" that contains one or more loggers. The operator of the system can add or remove loggers from groups, similar to files in a folder on a computer. |
Logger | A wireless Controlant logger that measures data and communicates to the Controlant cloud via Gateways |
Gateway | A device that transmits data from loggers to the Controlant cloud |
Logging into the system
To login to the Controlant Facility Monitoring solution
Navigate to www.controlant.com
Choose facility monitoring in the top-right corner of the home-page
Enter username and password
To view terms and conditions click on the link "terms & conditions" below the Login button
Press Login
First Login Views
Once a user is logged into the system he will be directed into the groups view. At the top of the view, the user will be shown two main tabs; the Group tab and Devices tab. If the user is defined as an administrator in the system, a Admin tab can be seen.
Group tab will display all groups that the user has access to. By pressing on the group the user will get directed into the group view where he can view specific loggers in that group.
Device tab will display all devices that the user has access to through his groups. In this view, the user can see the status of each device and manage, if he has By pressing on a device, the user will be directed into a view for that logger, where the user can view data on charts and configure warnings.
Admin tab will appear if the user is defined as an administrator.
Group Details
When a user chooses a group, he will be directed into the the group details view.
Once in the group the user will be able to:
View multi-charts [Multichart button], were data from multiple loggers is displayed on a single chart.
Create and subscribe to pdf reports [Reports button]
View incidents (excursions) and create incident reports
View details for loggers, including current measurement, wireless signal strength, historical data
Configure warnings
The logger overview will show status of all sensors measurements.
With the view, users can:
View data on a chart, by pressing on the measurement value
Add or modify warnings, by pressing on the bell-shaped icon
Renaming the logger and add data-alarms by pressing on the wrench icon
View status of battery and signal strength

Viewing Data
Multi-Chart
By pressing the Multichart button in the group overview, the user is directed into the charting tool.
The default view shows measurement log for all sensors within that specific group for the last 24 hours.
In this view the user can:
Select which day he wants to view [Time period button]
Choose common measurement types to view [Filter sensors by type drop-down menu]
Add and remove sensors by clicking on the check mark by each sensor or adding a device [+ Add devices]
Tabular View
While in multi-chart view, a tabular presentation of the data can be activated by choosing the "Table" tab.
Downloading Data
By choosing "Download File", a file download will be started for the data in the chart/table. It will be downloaded on a csv file which can be opened in Excel or other similar spreadsheet editors.
Reporting Tool
By pressing on the Reports button, the user gets directed into the reporting tool. In that tool, the user can generate a one-time report or subscribe to daily, weekly or monthly reports.

Text message and email warnings
By pressing on the bell shaped icon on a sensor, the user gets directed into the warning view. In that tool, the user can set up warnings that will trigger alerts to users via email and/or text messages.

Device Overview
The device overview lists up all Gateways and loggers that the user has access to. All gateways are marked as light gray and all loggers are marked as light blue.
In this view, the user can:

Device Details
When a user presses the graph icon in the logger/gateway line, he gets directed into the logger details view.
In the view, the user can:
View current status measurement status of all loggers
View log measurements from all sensors on on chart
Choose to view extended charts for individual sensors [by pressing the chart icon]
Choose to configure warnings [by pressing the bell shaped icon]
Changing User Settings
In the top-right corner menu, the user can choose to go to the Settings page.
In the settings page the user can do the following:
Change the display language in the interface. Available languages are Icelandic, English (US), English (UK), Danish, Swedish, German and Spanish.
Change the display time-zone
Change Unit of measurement for temperature
Change user password
