Release date:

We are pleased to announce an upcoming minor release to the SCM solution.

The main theme of the release is scalability. It includes new features that reduce manual work within our services, limits data loading in the user interface, and sends updates to our backend components to handle more concurrent data transmissions from loggers to the cloud.

Below are the main changes within the user interface..

We have added a configuration in our system that allows Admin users to enable comments in shared shipments. The configuration is disabled by default so to a system Administrator needs to manually update the configuration to enable this feature.

This feature opens up the possibility to share shipments with external parties, such as couriers or other stakeholders, that are tracking ongoing shipments and allowing them to add comments to the shipments without having to add them as users in the system.

This function can be enabled via Account Admin.

There will be two available configurations:

  • No access - meaning that comments will not be available in shared shipments.

  • Read and Write - meaning that non-users can read and write comments in shared shipments.

Once the configuration has been set to Read and Write, users are able to post either Public or Internal comments.

Public comments: Accessible for users that are logged in, and non-users that have access via shared shipment link.

Internal comments: Accessible only for users that are logged in.

Customers that do not use Comments in shared shipments use internal comments. If comments in shared shipments are later enabled, the pre-existing internal comments will not be accessible in shared shipments.

The image below shows the Comment tab.

The Comment tab in the Share Shipment view is shown in the image below. Notice that the internal comment (grayed) on the image above is hidden in the image below, and there is an option for the non-user to add name, company, and email below the Add Comment option in Your details.

Pagination of Shipment view for faster loading time

Pagination is added to the Shipment view. Pagination will be similar to what is currently being done for Closed shipments.

Up until now, a user has had access to all ongoing shipments on one page. After the release has been deployed, the number of ongoing shipments per page will be limited to a maximum of 20.

Users are directed to use to the Shipment Search to quickly find specific shipments.

The pagination will be applied to the different sections in the following way:

When opening a shipment, the last reported location of each logger will be shown on the map.

Changes to Temperature Boundaries

Minimum and maximum thresholds have been added to the warnings.

Maximum value: 300°C

Minimum value: -273.1°C

Crossover limitation added

It is not possible to configure the lower boundary to have a higher value than the upper boundary and vice versa.

Include shipment Inspection Comments to Shipment Reports

With a configuration, it is possible to include Inspection Comments in the PDF Shipment Reports.

The Inspection Comments are generally added to the shipment during inspection and usually contain information that has to do with the shipment’s positioning. Including the Inspection Comments in the Shipment Reports works well for users that chose to resend Shipment Reports after inspection with the shipment’s final status.

Icons and colors added to Shipment Report for Shipment Quality and Excursion Severity

An icon was added to identify Shipment Quality and color was added to identify Excursion Severity. The main purpose was to improve readability, allowing users to quickly identify if there is an issue with a shipment, and to facilitate the creation of training material in different languages.

Shipment Quality can be Good or Bad and will be indicated with a Green or Red icon respectively.

Excursion Severity is indicated with a color. No color for No Excursion, blue for Low severity excursion, yellow for Medium severity excursion, and red for high severity excursion. See above an example of how low severity excursion is displayed.
