Pending Data in Active Shipments

Where can I see if there are pending data?

When three or more data points are missing in one or more loggers in an active shipment, it is displayed in the shipments tab under Active shipments, as shown in the image.

When data points are missing from a shipment, processing and analyzing the shipment is impossible, and a report is not generated. By identifying the problem, you can troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

You can see all the active shipments with missing data points and which loggers in the shipments are missing them.

By selecting a shipment, you can find more information about it in the Loggers section of the Info tab.

You’ll see the next logger wake-up time (when the logger is scheduled to send data) to help you identify if the pending data is due to:

  • Normal circumstances

  • An issue

    • with the logger battery, or

    • connectivity

And if it needs manual intervention.

If a wake-up interval goes overdue and there is missing data, a tooltip will appear to give you more direction on possible fixes.

If a wake-up interval is not overdue, but there are missing data points in the logger, that is normal behavior, which means that data is pending. You should wait.

Note: loggers that enter a zone of low connectivity while still in shipping mode might become overdue in their wake-up. A tooltip is available to explain this on the column itself.

Can I request a report when there are pending data?

If you request a report from a shipment with pending data, you’ll receive a system message informing you that data collection is still in progress and the product release should not be based on the report.

The PDF will have a “Pending data” banner if you request a report despite the message. The chart will contain gaps, and loggers with pending data will be marked with a red icon.
